Scrotal Ultrasound Information Handout

Your physician has ordered a scrotal ultrasound for you. For fertility purposes, we are looking to rule out varicocele, hydrocele, epididymitis or undescended testis. 

Testing availability‍

Booked on Mondays and Fridays between 1 to 2 PM at Pollin Fertility

Duration of Test‍

30 minutes

Preparation‍

Avoid using lotions, creams or deodorants on prep area

How is the Test Performed‍

The test is performed by the sonographer. You will be asked to lie down on your back with clothing removed from the waist down. You will be covered with a sheet. An ultrasound probe will be used with clear gel on the scrotum to scan and capture ultrasound images of testes, epididymis, and vessels.

Results‍

This will be reviewed at your Urology Consultation appointment with Dr. Blankstein or Dr. Fitzpatrick.
